It is the political gift that keeps on giving. After Obamacare helped usher John Salazar and Betsy Markey out of Congress in 2010, two more Congressional hopefuls threw their lot in with the widely loathed legislation. In the state House today, state Reps. Joe Miklosi (D-Denver) and Sal Pace (D-Urination) voted to keep Obamacare in place.

Opposition researchers at the NRCC and the long list of outside groups surely jumped for joy at the Obamacare trap Pace and Miklosi just jumped in. A rotation of attack ads just wrote themselves.

In a sign of political ineptitude, Reps. Miklosi and Pace voted against a resolution urging the repeal of the job-killing law that helped cause the greatest loss of Congressional seats in generations. In 2010, Democrats lost a staggering 63 seats that resulted from a backlash which began with the partisan vote to force Obamacare through Congress and down Americans' throats.

Today's vote also will complicate Miklosi and Pace's efforts to demagogue Congressmen Tipton and Coffman's vote for the Ryan plan, which sought to reform entitlement spending, as Obamacare was funded partly by cutting Medicare by $500 billion.

“Sal Pace and Joe Miklosi made it clear today that they support cutting Medicare by $500 billion to fund Barack Obama’s healthcare experiment,” said Tyler Q. Houlton, President of Compass Colorado. “Obama’s trillion dollar government takeover of healthcare has already caused drastic cuts in medical services and increased premiums on hardworking Coloradans – and the legislation hasn’t even been fully implemented yet.”

As much as we like to point out the vast and embarrassing criminal rap sheet of Sal Pace, it is votes like this that will ultimately doom him in the conservative 3rd Congressional district.

Thanks Obamacare!
