That's a joke from Futurama. Naturally, that's actually the least important way to be correct. You can pick on the inclusion of Obamacare (although opposition to it derives from the antisocial avarice of the social conservative - it has very little to do with fiscal conservatism at the end of the day), but the Post has the Colorado GOP dead to rights here. None of the issues they listed, all given high priority by McNulty, had a damn thing to do with "jobs and the economy." If he was so concerned, then that was the stuff he should have focused on during the regular session.

Obama's always been in favor of civil unions, he now approves full redefinition of marriage.

He was for ssm before he was against it, and now he's for it again.

The One has made it clear that traditional blue collar based energy production has no place in "his" America. This has resulted in a Democratic former governor and current senator, Joe Manchin, to refuse to say whether or not he voted for Obama or the felon in last Tuesday's primary. And if the Democrats are losing the support of one of the last effective private sector unions, the troubles they face with the rest of the working public aren't minor.

I know what you'll say, that it's "RACIST!!!" for people to want to keep their jobs, and have reliable energy to light and heat their homes. But then, the working people in West Virgina are just more of those "bitter clingers" that Obama really doesn't like anyways. After all they aren't cool and rich like the Hollywood crowd, are they?

may be Conservative based sites where those who post are considerably better informed than Rush or his average fan base

President is Still rolling over us. It is going to take more than one term to fix it, and it may take more than one president even at 2 terms each. the simple facts are:
1.) The last Democratic president took a deficit and turned it into the greatest surplus in American history and the strongest economy since the 50's and we call Dems...Liberals?
2.) The last Republican President took this Surplus and turned it into the greatest deficit in GLOBAL history
through the greatest wasteful and wanton givaways of power to
C.E.O's other corporate criminals who were lining his pockets
with graft to get him to do just what he did...Sell America to the highest corporate bidders at the expense of the American public and we call them...CONSERVATIVE!? In What way?

2006 you could make a case, but Rob Witwer's book also laid out a very detailed and well-documented book about the 2002-06 spending. I'd say '08 was probably when Gill et al were least relevant. What proof do you have to say Dems thought it was too politically risky? Blogs are opinion, or spin as you like to call it, this one happens to be mostly observation and opinion--more-so than others. At least that's my opinion.

I'm asking about links supporting their assertions - the things they state as FACT. Which checks from Tim Gill do they mean? How do they know that's why the Dems won in 2006 - and not, you know, because that was a Dem wave year? What was Ritter's "bidding?" What proof can they present to show that Dems "blocked" civil unions?

The answer is that they have none, of course.

Now, I will not go out and accuse the Dems of being brave leaders on this issue. They have not been. But that doesn't make this a completely disingenuous (and revealing) attack, especially when one considers its timing. They have been working on a civil unions bill for months, and I believe one died in the previous session for lack of votes. Now that they have them, McNulty used procedural tactics to kill it. Calling the Dems out for politics is the height of hypocrisy AND dishonesty.

the legislators have been tripping over themselves to ask for $ from lobbyists since yesterday. They can collect until 11:59 on Sunday. Since the special session can, in theory, last indefinitely there's been a mad dash to get lobbyist dollars/hold fundraisers. FYI
